Slán Mr Madigan
After twenty content, dedicated years as principal of St James' N.S., Mr Madigan retired from his position.
On Tuesday 5th November, the school community recognised his long-standing contribution and commitment to the school and parish. A mass was celebrated in the school by Fr Boyce and attended by the staff and pupils and representatives of the Board of Management and Parents' Association. Those in attendance were entertained by songs and poems performed by the children and a touching speech was made by Deputy Principal, Mrs Noonan.
Mr Madigan's work, determination and expertise in education meant he influenced many children on a daily basis. He taught various class levels in Cappagh and most recently taught as a Special Education teacher.
He has been instrumental in the change, growth and development of the school during the years and has done a wonderful job. We would like to express our gratitude to him for all that he has done. He will be sadly missed from the school but the legacy that he leaves behind is immense.
